WEB DESIGN COURSES
Since many of our clients -- publishers, design professionals, advertising agencies among others, showed a strong interest in the web, Kupola Internet Design has been offering courses in Stuttgart to help them transfer their skills in print media to the web.
Courses are conducted in German or English and last 14 hours over seven weeks.
There are three levels:
Basic: At the end of this course, you will be able to make a frames-based site, you will understand navigation, links, fonts, backgrounds, colours, tables and all the important html tags. You will be able to make images for the web and will understand which compression format to use and how to optimise web graphics. Further, you will be able to upload your site to the web and test it. Useful tools for making websites are reviewed. The course requires no previous progvramming knowledge.
Intermediate: This course introduces JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, Dynamic HTML and CGI concepts. Participants learn to build interactive web pages, using layers, graphic effects such as roll-overs or animation, and dynamically-generated content. The use of forms is explained in detail and students get to grips with simple server-side CGI scripts in Perl.
Advanced: Moving from effects to web-programming, more advanced concepts such as electronic commerce, shopping cart systems, archive systems and database management are examined. Template-based sites and personalising the web experience are discussed with useful examples.
Every course has a substantial practical element.Students should be prepared to do two additional hours of work at home each week.
Not everyone can be expected to know how the web can be put to work.
Kupola offers presentations to management and staff on how to use and benefit from the web at work.
We also offer individually tailored suggestions and analysis as to how company websites can be improved and extended.
